An intense day of Counter-Strike at Boomtown in Copenhagen has ended. The fairly new team named team mates managed to beat mTw in the grand final and will be looking forward to attend the coming DreamHack Summer. A mixture of Danish and Swedish teams had found their way to Boomtown internet café in Copenhagen. At stake was an invitation to DreamHack Summer, including travel and entry-fee, plus getting directly to the 32-team bracket, meaning skipping the eventual group-stage. Major favourite to win the qualifier was KODE5 champions mTw. But a new Danish team on the scene wanted it different. Team mates and mTw faced each other in the grand final on de_nuke. mTw could choose CT, as they won the knife-round. The ball went back and forth and the teams switched to take rounds, team mates could take home last round of first half and change sides with 8-7 score as T. As CT team mates should be happy they had a Friis on-fire the first couple of rounds. The ramp was completely locked down and mTw had no luck entering at all. mTw did find some of the comeback-momentum as we have seen them do before, but it simply didn’t do it this time. Team mates managed 1on1 to secure the win with 16:13 score. Grand Final team mates will attending DreamHack Summer, 14-17th of June in Jönköping, Sweden. Will mTw go after all and take the long way through the group-stage, or simply get a wildcard, like we have seen before? Time will tell. Tomorrow it’s the Norwegian qualification taking place in Oslo. The Norwegian qualification will also be broadcasted here on HLTV.org |
